Black Bear NIL Collective Anchors the Trenches and Solidifies Special Teams with Trio of Key Signings
ORONO, ME — December 19, 2026 — The Black Bear NIL Collective is proud to announce the official signing of offensive linemen Jack Boutaugh and Max Gregor, along with kicker Kemsley Marsters, to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) partnerships. These signings underscore the Collective’s unwavering commitment to rewarding the “blue-collar” work ethic that defines University of Maine football, ensuring the program’s foundation remains “Maine-tough.”
The Signings
Jack Boutaugh | OL | Redshirt Junior | Turner, ME
A true homegrown talent, Jack Boutaugh has evolved into a powerhouse on the Black Bears’ offensive front. Standing 6’4″ and weighing 300 lbs, the former Leavitt High School standout and 2021 Frank J. Gaziano Award runner-up has transitioned from a dominant two-way high school star to a reliable, physical anchor for the UMaine line. Appearing in every game last season, Boutaugh’s local roots and relentless motor embody the spirit of the Orono community.
Max Gregor | OL | Redshirt Junior | Easton, CT
Hailing from Easton, Connecticut, and a product of Cheshire Academy, Max Gregor brings veteran intelligence and an unmatched presence to the trenches. Despite being sidelined by injury this past season, Gregor remained an integral part of the Black Bears’ success, serving as a vocal leader on the sidelines. Often seen in a headset helping call offensive signals during games, his “coach-on-the-field” mentality and high-energy leadership have made him a vital pillar of the Orono locker room.
Kemsley Marsters | K | Redshirt Freshman | Dover-Foxcroft, ME
A multi-sport sensation from Foxcroft Academy, Kemsley Marsters represents the future of Maine’s special teams. After a decorated high school career where he guided the Ponies to a state championship as a dual-threat athlete, Marsters has focused his explosive leg talent on the kicking game. As a redshirt freshman, his composure under pressure and local ties make him a “fan favorite” in the making.
Leadership Perspective
“Today is a big day for the Black Bear NIL Collective because it’s about rewarding the guys who do the heavy lifting,” said Jackson Leonard, operator of the Collective. “In Jack and Max, we are supporting the veteran leadership that keeps our offense moving, and with Kemsley, we are investing in a premier Maine-born talent who knows exactly what it means to represent this state. Our mission is to ensure that every student-athlete, from the trenches to the specialists, feels the full support of the Orono community. We aren’t just building a roster; we’re building a sustainable future for Maine football.”
